Whipping a Dead Horse

Sometimes people want to talk about issues that have arisen. I don’t believe in whipping a dead horse. Sometimes just giving it to the Lord is all we can do. If it involves someone, then we need to help them. The Bible tells us to build up, edify, encourage, and love others. (Ephesians 4:12 “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:” These are not natural attributes. It takes work on our part to be there for others and not be selfish. Telling someone they are wrong needs to be done with God’s help, with compassion, and not condemnation.

I remember many years ago, Teenagers making the statement, “They think I am wicked, So I am going to be wicked.” I believe that they felt like no matter what I do it will never matter so why try. No one wants to feel like they don’t matter. I have felt like that many times, like I was poo on the bottom of someones shoe. Thankfully, as an Adult, I am able to draw strength from the Lord. But Teens, Young people, Young Christians, Children who have grown up in the Church are not always mature enough to keep going. Sometimes they just give up. It is our job to help them not condemn them.
