The Invisible Enemy

I started writing my thoughts back in October 2018 and in just a few months I had discovered things about myself I really was not aware of. So if I don’t know myself completely how can others think they know who I am? Every day through the Word of God I learn something about myself that only God knows. That is why preachers are always encouraging us to have a walk with God. Hebrews 4:12 states it best: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Over the past few days I have read about the invisible enemy, the influences we have on others and a word that is only three letters but very powerful. I have not written about this before now because of the impact each one has together in my life. Let me explain.

We all know that the in Ephesians 6:12 we are in a spiritual warfare. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” While he himself is invisible, he uses visible people to get to us. If we keep this in mind we can turn the table and not react the way he would like us to. Walking in the Spirit will keep us from allowing the invisible to use the visible to get to us.

Just now I had someone come to the window at my job for an appointment and we were talking about children and the influence of the electronic age. This made me think of how the invisible not only uses people, but is using electronics to influence our lives.

That brings me to the influence we have on others. You see we all can either be a pawn used by the devil to get at someone or we can be used of God to influence others for good. You see we are only one person. One influences many. This is described in Romans 5:19 “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” There is always someone who is watching and being influenced by what we say, what we do, or where we go. Again we must have a Walk with God so we are the right influence.

With each new day there are challenges that come our way. We are to walk in God’s way so as to stay on the right path. When we search the scriptures and really search out what God would have us do, we can use one of the most powerful words in the Bible. This word is only three letters and is found in Habakkuk 3:18 “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” The word “Yet” reminds us that even though we are in a spiritual war with the invisible, even though these influences can turn us around, we can rejoice in the Lord. We can have joy. We make the decision which way to go. We have to make a conscience effort to not quit. We are saved on our way to Heaven. We need to keep our head up, our eyes on the Lord and keep going forward. (2 Corinthians 4:1 “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;”) There isn’t any time to quit. Time is running out, people need to be saved. What we do today should be to the Glory of the Lord. Then we can say, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord.”
