How would I want to be treated if that was Me? The question should be answered with Matthew 7:12,”Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” It is quite simple, if we put ourselves in someone else’s place, how would we want others treat us.
I have stated many times in the past writings that we are all different. We all may have a similar trial come in our lives, but we will not all go through that trial the same way. What God teaches one, may not be what he is trying to teach someone else.
I am angered at how some people add salt to injury because they don’t apply this principle. We are not the fountain of knowledge with all the answers. If you have to get up in someone’s business you are just hurting them and you make yourself look bad. I would rather they didn’t talk to me at all if they don’t know what to say. One of my favorite saying in these kind of situations, comes from the movie Bambie, “If you can’t say nothing nice, don’t say nothing at all” You don’t always have to say something. Sometimes it is better to just let others know that you are praying for them. Of course you would really have to be praying for them.
Knowing all the details and talking about it, is not the answer. God already knows all the details. We are to comfort them, 1 Thess. 5:11, “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” We need to be an encourager and love them the way we would want them to do to us.
As Christians we need to pray for one another more and let God do what God does. God is under Control.
