The Domino Effect

The actions of man tell a story about their lives. There are two ways of looking at the lives of men. There is the Worldly view and the Spiritual view.

The Worldly view puts a mark on man that over shadows their life. Man falls and sins. The world puts their brand on a man who has stepped over the line. When this happens there is no turning back. Even when they serve their time in jail, that mark is permanent. Their name is put on a website to warn people they have been released back into the community.

Man’s actions can not only hurt them and brand them, but it can also hurt many around them. Family members who are the closest to them get hurt the worse. You might describe it as a domino effect. The actions of one effect many. (Romans 5:19, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”) We affect others either for good or bad.

The Spiritual view shows that the mark of sin put on our lives can be covered by the blood of Christ. Never to be remembered again. (Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”) Our sins are covered permanently. The Lord writes our name in the book of life. When we live the way we are supposed to we are given the name Christian. We can only be called a Christian if we are first saved and then we are living a Christ like life. Many are saved but do not live a Christ like life.

No matter how you look at it, through a worldly view or a spiritual view our actions will affect people for good or for bad. Just because someone is going to church and seems to be an upright Christian, does not mean they will not fall. It is a battle field every day to stay on the right track. We are to daily examine ourselves and give our life to the Lord. (Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”)

How people view us is a chose we make. (Psalms 22:1, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.”) We make a chose on how we say something or do something. We must take the time to make the right chose.
