I have often heard someone say the reason they don’t get along with someone is because they just don’t click. I think we are very arrogant when we determine who we are nice to and who we talk to. I love the phrase, “The ground is level at the Cross.” Imagine if Jesus had said I will die for this group of people, but not this group of people. He loved those close to him (disciples), he loved Judas who betrayed him, he loved those who put him to death, and he loved us when he looked down through time. He died for ALL. There is no greater love than that.
The Bible even states that he is not a respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34, “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:) We stereotype people and determine if we will be acquainted with them. For us to not be a respecter of persons would mean that we see everyone the same. Let me put it a different way. To be a Christian means that we are imitating Christ. We treat everyone the same way Christ does. We love everyone like Christ does. We forgive like Christ forgives.
I am reminded that I am just a Sinner saved by Grace. I struggle every day and have to go to God for forgiveness. We cannot look at others and think we know what is going on in their life. We should not try to understand why someone did what they did. It is hard enough to just take care of our own life. As I quoted my Sister before, “I have to take care of my own Beam”.
I am saved, on my way to Heaven, but I am not just like Christ yet. I try really hard to not call myself a Christian. It is a daily work in progress. I do not pray that the Lord would change others. I pray Lord Change Me! When we let God use us to love others we will be more like Christ. We will work harder to tell others about Heaven. We will focus more on what we are doing for Christ. We will see less of what others are doing.
