My husband twisted his ankle and fractured the top of his foot. Not sure what will happen yet, we see the Orthopedic Surgeon tomorrow.
However, we were talking about the situation, and wondered what God, would have us learn from it. My husband said, “Patients??” My thought was maybe it is away for the Lord to get us to slow down. There are somethings that my husband normally does what the younger guys have had to step in and do. This gives them the opportunity to learn and grow. We are not getting any younger. We cannot just keep doing because we can. Sometimes we need to let the younger generation start taking the wheel. So when we cannot do it at all, they are ready to do what needs to be done.
I think sometimes it is easier to just do it and get it done, than to wait for someone else to step in and do it. That goes back to what my husband said about patience. As we get older, we forget that one day it will be the younger generation who is in charge. If we do not allow them to learn and do things, the future will be a mess. I am also reminded that the Bible tells us, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) God is in control we do not need to feel as though we need to do it all.
Everything happens for a purpose. No matter what the situation is God must get the honor and glory from it. When we lift him up and let him be in control, then and only then will we see the true purpose and receive the blessing in the end. God has an expected end for us. (Jeremiah 29:11) We keep going forward and then we will see how it all works out.
Tomorrow we will find out what they are going to do with his ankle. We need to take each day as it comes and just trust in the fact that God knows what is ahead.
