You Think…

Why do some people think they are mind readers?

One of the most used phrases when someone is upset about something is “You think….” First of all only God knows what I am thinking. If we could read each other’s minds, we would not need a mouth. We could just communicate with our minds. However, that is not how God created us. God gave us a mouth so we could communicate with each other. This is the key to working out problems.

The children of Israel is a good example of this. In Numbers 13:33, “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” The last part states, “so we were in their sight” Did the spies go up to a giant and say hey! Do I look like a grasshopper to you? I do not think so. They let their own fear put thoughts into the giant’s head. The end result they wondered for 40 years in the wilderness, instead of enjoying the promise land.

We could enjoy the friendships around us if we would just communicate with each other. There would be less misunderstandings if we would just talk to each other. If you think someone meant something that made you mad, then you should say to that person, I am not sure I heard you correctly. This gives them the opportunity to clarify what they meant.
