Do Not Change a Word

I have been looking for posters for classrooms, as school is about to start. I keep finding over and over again one of my favorite verses Philippians 4:13. I love this verse, but it is quoted wrong everywhere. This is why I love the old book, the King James Bible. I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing it with the original not a version of it. Like food, sometimes you can get no name brand but it just is not the same. So let us look at this verse and see the difference.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

The word “which” is change to “who”. Therefore, changing the meaning of the verse.

The first part of the verse “I can do all things through Christ” talks about whatever we do doing it through Christ. When we do all things through Christ, we are not doing it on our own. On our own we are weak. The verse is telling us to do it through Christ.

Every action we do has a result. The second part “which strengtheneth me” tells the result of doing it through Christ. When we do things on our own without Christ we fall.  When we are depending on Christ not trying to be doing it on our own, then we are strong. Our strength comes from the doing. Like lifting weights. The more we lift weights the stronger we become. The more we do things through Christ we are strengthened, to do more for Christ.
