Do it Just Because

One of the things I have learned is that if someone does something for me, I can look at it two ways. One, I can question it as to why they did what they did? What do they want from me? What are they up too? Two, I can just take it as a blessing and be thankful to God for whatever it is. Sometimes people just do things for others just because. There is no motive, no ulterior motive, just because. And sometimes there is evil intended. But if we give thanks for everything, then we will only see the blessing that God has in store for us.

Matthew 6:1 “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.” When I do something for someone, I am not looking for anything in return. I just want to make their day brighter. Most of the time I do it so that person is the only one that knows it was me. Even when I try to do something secretly for someone, they know it was me. If they share it with others then it is not me looking for the praise, it that person sharing their blessing.

I have done things for people who have questioned why? In the process of trying to find out why (?) they miss out on the blessing that could have been. I am not the enemy. I have had people say that I think I am better than them. I am trying to get to them. Something I meant for good toward them, they took it as a jab at them. The thought process of why can rob us of great friendships.   Why does there have to be a why? It is a good feeling to just do something because.

Doing something good for someone is just the right thing to do as a Christian. We need to look for the good in all things.

Matthew 5:44 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” Luke 6:33 “And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.”

Let God be the judge on wither or not what people do for you is good or bad. If you judge everything and look at others in a negative light, then you rob only yourself of those things God has for you. Let God be in control.

2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
