Have you ever felt as though you were the only one who abided by the rules? I have felt this way many times. Only to find out that when I felt this way, I was not doing everything I should be doing. When we stop and look at others that are breaking the rules, we ourselves are not working. Any time you stop you are now not doing what you are supposed to. As long as we keep working, we are still part of the work of God.
Elijah stopped and had a pity party. (1 Kings 18:22, “Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.”) God showed him that he was not alone, that there was a remnant that was still doing what they were supposed to do. While he was having his pity party the work he was supposed to be doing stopped. (Romans 11:5, “Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.”) We need to keep our eyes on the Lord and just do what we are supposed to do. Do not take the time to stop and look around. Remember it does not matter wither others are doing or not doing. What matters is that we keep working and not stop.
Ecclesiastes 9:11, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
