Today I realized that in just a few weeks I will have been sharing my journey for 1 year. The truths that God has given me have not only helped me but has helped others who I have shared them with. I believe we should talk about the goodness of God and share with others all of what God does for us. We should share the gospel to a lost and dyeing world. We should share the blessings with our family and friends. We should not be ashamed to tell how good God is. Without God we would not be living. We are living for a purpose. That purpose is to share everything God is doing in our lives. (Isaiah 46:4, “And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.”)
When we talk to our family and friends about the good things and the bad things, when we pray together, when we cry together, and when we laugh together, everyone around us should know that God is our God. The world is slowly not knowing who God is because we take on an attitude that “We are Christians, we don’t need to talk about it”. Let me just insert here that none of us are Christians if we do not talk about who God is.
I have written about this before that to be a Christian is not just being saved. A Christian is someone who when you look at their life, everything about them is being just like Christ. That is part of the journey of striving every day to be more like Christ. Even Paul did not call himself a Christian, the people of Antioch called them Christians. They called them Christians because of their Christ like attitude. The way we walk, the way we talk and the way we dress should all be examples of Christ in our lives.
No matter who we are talking to, be it family or friends. You do not know what God is doing in someone else’s heart. We are sharing what God has done in our lives we may just be helping someone else. Sometimes we bottle things up and no one knows what is going on inside. I know that I have been encouraged many times because of friends or family sharing with me the things God has done for them. They did not know that I needed what they were sharing, but God did and used them to encourage me.
What about the next generation? If we do not talk about how God has blessed us, then how is the next generation going to know. I have many great nieces and nephews and even great-great nieces and nephews that are being born that need us to tell them about how Jesus died and paid for their sins, tell them how Great our God is. How will they know if we do not tell them? The next generation needs to be saved and carrying on the message to the next generation. We need to speak out, tell the world. (Matthew 28:20, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”) We are the teachers.
You will notice that in all my writings that I have quoted the Bible. I could have just put the reference and let people, who I pray will read this, look up the verse. I purposely wrote out the Bible verses because I wanted to make sure that the Bible speaks for itself. I also want to point out that I use the King James Bible. I will not apologize for my stand on the fact that the KJ Bible is the first Bible translated into English. So therefore, it is the only Bible I use. (Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”)
