A Life of Joy

As I reflect on my journey and the things God is doing in my life, I am amazed at all the different conversations that the Lord brings into my life. Sometimes it is to be an encouragement to someone. Sometimes it is an encouragement to me to say you are on the right track, keep going, keep seeking me, and keep doing what I want you to do. It is so amazing, how even though we are all different we are a lot the same. Because we all have struggles and we all have good times and bad times.

There are times you want to share with somebody, and they slap it down. Sometimes the other person is rejoicing and praising the Lord with you. You just never know what the outcome is going to be. You do not know what the negative outcome is if you are gripping and complaining. You do not know what the positive outcome is in somebody’s life, when you are rejoicing in the Lord. If we make a conscience chose to watch what we say, watch everything we do and we choose to stay focused on trying to do what is right, doing what God wants us to do, it is amazing what can happen.

I was encouraged by an email my sister sent me, because she has been reading everything I have been writing since last October. She asked me, “Didn’t you say you were adding to this? Can you send more? I love all you have written so far. It is an encouragement to me.” Is not that what our life supposed to be, an encouragement to others. Wither it is in written form, or verbally. Even if it is just a tap on the shoulder to let them know I am here for you. Our goal in life should be to help others to achieve, to become whatever God needs them to be.

My life is not simple, there is struggles, there is good times and bad times. No matter what is going on in my life I can see the hand of God in my life. There is a saying that when you get to the other side you look back and have 20/20 vison. Looking back, you see, Oh that is why I had to go through that. But when we are going through those things, we do not know the why. We just have to have faith, keep going forward, and keep seeking the answer. The Bible says if we seek, we will find. [Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”]

All the answers are right in God Word. We just have to stay focused on that journey, stay focused on living the Christian life. I have stated in previous pages we have to be a Christ like example. I do not call myself a Christian, because I am wicked, I struggle. Paul and Silas, they did not call themselves Christians, the people of Antioch called them Christians first. Because they were living the example of being like Christ. I want my life to reflect a Christ like life, but I am not going to go around and boast that I am a Christian. I fall short, I sin every day.

Every day I have to guard myself and not let other’s circumstances affect me. I need to keep doing what I need to do for God, not be influenced by others. So many people live down in the Mulley grubs because they think about all the negative things that have influenced them. They think about all the garbage that others have dumped on them, they think about how to pay the bills, buy groceries, etc. Whatever the situation they dwell on it till they have made a mountain our of a mole hill. We cannot do that. God wants us to live an abundant life. A life full of joy.
