Standing Before the Throne

Close your eyes and picture standing before God at the Judgment! Now look inside your life and ask the question, what will God say about what I am doing for him?

We are all sinners saved by Grace called to be servants of the Lord. Everything we do will come out to be either, (gold, silver, precious stones) or (wood, hay, stubble). [1 Corinthians 3:12-13] The exercise above helps us to look deep inside and see what God sees.

Everyday we have a purpose to fulfill for the Lord. We are to seek God and have him direct our path to fulfill that purpose. When we pillow our head at nighttime, we should be able to say I did all that I was supposed to do today. We should pray and ask God to help us to accomplish more for him tomorrow than we did today.

I have to say I am guilty of not always doing this exercise. Somedays I just float through the day and before I know it the day is gone. As I reflect on that day, I find that I was more critical and negative. We are all guilty of getting caught up in what we are doing that we start living that day mindlessly. Just going from one task to the other.

I can start a day out right and end it with mindless task that do not amount to anything, but wood hay and stubble. I admit this because of the verse in James 5:16 that says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Confessing my faults can help me to work harder at staying on God’s path.  I said before we are all sinners saved by Grace called to servants of the Lord.

Our daily reading of the Bible shows us a reflection of who we are for Christ. Our number one priority is our walk with God. If we are focused on our walk with God, we will see the world differently. We will see the real us. We will see people differently. Another exercise we can do is write down one positive thing about the people around us. When we do this, we will definitely see people differently. When we are looking at all these things from God’s point of view, we will treat others with more love and compassion. A preacher friend of ours says, “Be good to everybody, everybody is having a tough time. Go find someone and reach them for Christ.” That should be our greatest purpose of all finding someone and leading them to Christ.
