Philippians 3:20, “for our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:”
I often find myself in a conversation and trying to turn it around to direct it to the Lord. It is not easy sometimes. Our goal everyday is to keep the Lord high and lifted up. When a conversation is earthlier more than heavenly, we are feeding the flesh. We need to work at always putting the Lord into our conversations.
I work at a manufacturing company that is filled with conversations that are very earthly. I pray for those who need the Lord and try really hard to incorporate the Lord into a conversation. This reminds them that I do not participate in this world’s lifestyle. The more I do this the more they watch what they say in my presence. I also have my walls decorated with scripture, which is another form of conversation. Working in a worldly atmosphere makes me work more at watching my conversation.
Another area of my life is filled with Church. My husband and I have been in the ministry together since before we got married over 33 years ago. You would think that if you were at Church, you would not have to work at your conversation. After all you are in God’s house. Let me remind you, we are all sinners saved by Grace. Sometimes, conversations must be turned around toward the Lord. We must always keep the Lord first in our conversation.
These conversations are: rehearsing the blessings of God, sharing what the Lord has given us in his Word, edifying one another, giving praise for other’s blessings, praying together and whatever great thing God is doing in our lives. He is to be High and Lifted up. He is done great things for us, let us rehearse those things in our conversations.
