Redeeming the Time

Just recently we had a dear family member Graduate to Heaven.

It is in those times we reflect on our time together. We remember all the good times and rejoice in their life they lived. I am reminded that sometimes we take that time for granted. Then just like that we loose someone we love very much.

The verse that came to my mind is Ephesians 5:16, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” We need to be busy telling others about Christ, time is running out. We also need to cherish each moment with our loved ones. We are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Growing up I had the privileged of knowing a very dear sweet lady who was strong, hard working and loving. She worked as a Nurse. She was the mother of my Sister-in-law. One day she was diagnosed with dementia. The last time I saw her she did not even know who I was. It broke my heart, because I loved her like my own grandmother. I hold on to the times we laughed together and she made my favorite dessert. I can not get that time back.

I have given two examples of redeeming the time. Giving the Gospel and cherishing the moments with love ones. When that time is gone we can not get it back.
