Matthew 20:30-34
And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
We are sometimes like these two blind men crying out to the Lord to give us sight. These two men were blind physically. We are sometimes blind Spiritually. We need to cry out to the Lord often asking him to help us see. Life can sometimes get in the way, and we walk around like Blind men. We should ask the Lord to help us see.
There are people around us who need us to help them spiritually. Some are not saved and need someone to show them the plan of salvation. Some are having a hard time and need encouragement. There are those who just need a friend to let them know they are there for them. Our eyes should be opened to those who the Lord would have us tough their lives for Him.
There is a Hymn that we sing: Open My Eyes That I May See. The first first is:
Open my eyes that I may see glimpses of truth thou hast for me. Place in my hands the wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free. Silently now I wait for thee, ready, my God, thy will to see. Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!
We do not know what others around us need. The Lord knows everything, and he needs us to reach out to those in need. When we miss those opportunities we are blind and need the Lord to open our eyes, that we may see.
