When we look at the world around us, there are many judgements made on what we see or hear. This stereotypical attitude is where assumptions come from. When one makes an assumption about something, that assumption becomes their reality. An assumption is based on a partial knowledge of what is the truth.
The whole truth is so much more than an assumption of one truth. Making assumptions has a domino effect. If that assumption is shared with others, then it continues down. Each person the assumption is shared with will add their own assumption. Not only does it hurt the person it was made about, but it also causes all the others in between to be part of something that should never have happened. Those in the middle are just following the crowd. It is easier to follow than to find out the real truth.
Never assume anything. Find out the facts and learn the truth. When you find the truth, then no one gets hurt. When you find out for yourself the whole truth, you will not be pulled down by other’s assumptions. Many would call this the blind leading the blind. Knowing the truth will keep you from being hurt or hurting others. Think of how you would feel if that were you. If you do not want others to make an assumption about a partial truth about you then stop it before it gets bigger. Treat people the way you want to be treated.
On the other side of that is when those assumptions are made about you, you cannot change their minds. No matter what you do or say, some people just cannot or will not change their thinking. Some people like being miserable and try to get everyone around them to feel the same way. You cannot let it get to you. Hold your head up, you know the whole truth. Do not let it get you down. If you let it get to you, the one who started it all wins. If you cannot smile, smile anyway and fake it till you make it. Do not give them the satisfaction of knowing they got to you.
Be Kind and strive to live peaceably with all mankind.
