The Unexpected

Life sometimes is not what we think it should be. As children we dream of many things.  We have high hopes for things: i.e… our career, our family, traveling, or finances. The list is different for everyone. But the real expectations should be focused on what the Lord has for us. Then and only then will other things fall into place. God will bless us above what we ever dreamed of as a child. We become disappointed and think life is unfair. When the real problem is our outlook of our life.

There are many aspects of childhood that could affect the outcome of where we end up in life. We can dwell on the negative part and never accomplish what God has for us. Or we could focus on the good things and accomplish far greater things that we ever dreamed. God is in the positive things not the negative. His ways are above our ways. We cannot imagine all the things God would love to do for us. We miss out on a lot of things because we give in to the negative side of life. Then God has to hold back until we turn around and do the right things for Him.

We watch people and say if they would just do it this way, then God would bless them. Yet we do not tell ourselves the same thing. If everyone follows their own advice and does the right thing, we will not have so many problems. But as humans we like to point out what others are doing, so we can avoid what we need to change. No matter how much we try to justify what we do, the bottom line we need to change. We need to take a long look in the mirror of our own life.

God has many unexpected blessings that he wants to give to us. The Bible tells us that he supplies our needs according to his riches. We think on an earthly plain and forget that God is the creator of all things. God spoke the world into being, he can take care of us. He takes care of the birds and the flowers; we are more important to him than those. He proved that we are more important when he sent Jesus to die in our place. We just need to change how we think and look at the greatness of God.

We need to look for the unexpected and trust only in God for all things.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
