Growing up I was told to think before you speak. Many people want to be heard, but do not want to listen to the other side. There are always two opinions. Two sides to every conversation. Sometimes we need to just agree to disagree.
I do not agree with a lot of things in this world. Just because I do not agree does not give me the right to shove it someone’s face. We have the freedom to believe whatever we want to. If that means we disagree with someone, then find someone who does agree. Don’t force what you believe on someone else.
I was told once the things I write about, that not everyone wants to hear about my faith and what I think. I do not write to make people believe what I am saying. It is just a way to help myself and others who do believe the same. It is a choice by each individual to read what I write. It is a choice whether you agree or disagree.
So many people want to just react and give their opinion. They spew anger and hatred because they do not agree with the topic. It is okay to have an opinion without making others feel as though your way is the only way. Everyone thinks that their way is the right way. This is where we agree to disagree and move on.
Wars are fought over this way of thinking. If they cannot get the other side to agree, then they will do it by force. If you look at history, you see where that gets us. Anger and Hatred is power without Power. Being right without being right. It all leads to destruction.
Across the world there are many people talking and less people listening. We need to listen more and speak less. If we reserve our words and speak when the time is right, we will find a better way to live in peace.
