As children we played to game of tag. This was a game where we had physical touch. To touch someone is not always physical. Our words touch others. Our actions touch others. All of this helps us in our day-to-day life.
I asked AI assist what it means to tap into your potential. This is what AI gave me.
“Tap into your potential means accessing and using your hidden abilities, strengths, and talents to achieve more, which involves setting clear goals, developing good habits, embracing challenges, stepping out of your comfort zone, and focusing on continuous learning and self-awareness. It’s about working smarter, understanding your weaknesses, and overcoming fears to grow personally and professionally, transforming latent abilities into tangible results.”
You are probably wondering what this has to do with the game of tag. To reach our potential we need many people. The more people you contact, the closer you are to reaching your potential. If you start a business, you need people. No matter what we want to accomplish in life, we accomplish it much better with the help of others.
The game of tag requires several people. Two people could play tag, but it would get boring after a while. The game is more exciting with lots of people. We surround ourselves with like-minded people. We laugh, we cry and we succeed together.
This is especially true in our Walk with God. I am encouraged by others to do more for the Lord. A simple touch like a text saying they are praying for me. Even the physical touch when we meet, with a hug or handshake. Having support from others gives us the strength to go a little further. Each touch should encourage us to encourage someone else. Thus tag your it. Pass it on.
There are 167 verses in the Bible that use the word touch, touched, toucheth and touching. The word touch is used 48 times. Touched: 49 times. Toucheth: 40 times. Touching 30 times. Most of these verses tell us what to do and not do. If we study these verses, we can see from God’s view the importance of touch or not toughing. Paul wrote about loving one another. 1 Thessalonians 4:9 “But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.”
The greatest touch we have is loving one another. We should love others (Family, Coworkers, Neighbors, People we do business with) enough to tell them how to go to Heaven someday. Psalms 126:6 “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Telling someone about Heaven is the greatest touch of all. Someone told you. Are you telling others?
What about your own Walk with God. Every time we read the word of God he is speaking to us. This is how God himself touches our lives. We need God’s touch every day. Multiple times a day. The most important thing in our lives should be our walk with God. Daniel 8:18-19 “Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.” Through God’s word we learn what we need to serve him more. This is the greatest guide to success.
The questions are: “Are you taping into your potential?” Are you seeking others to help? Do you try to just go out on your own and do it yourself?
Set a goal in your life to reach out to others. Give a smile or encouragement. When you think about someone send them a text message and pray for them right then. Above all have a walk with God daily.
Our walk with God is the most important part of tapping into our potential. Studying the word of God opens up different things in our lives that push us to reaching our potential. Every word in the Bible is there for a purpose. We must dig deep and find it. (2 Tim. 2:15)
One of the books that most people do not like to read in the book of Leviticus. This is a deep dive into the laws of the Old Testament. Because the scriptures have many applications, there are two in Leviticus that we will look at today.
The first one is our children. When you see the LORD telling Moses to speak to the children of Israel, this is important to parents. There are many chapters and verses where Moses is told to speak to the children. We as parents need to speak to our children. As Moses instructs the children of Israel the laws that God has given, we as parents must instruct our children with the rules and consequences of our homes.
Not only did Moses give them the Law but taught them to be separate from the people that they were to take the land from. He teaches them to stay away from their idols and religious beliefs. God told them to take the land, but as we see in reading the Word they allowed some of the people to live and little by little, they adopted their beliefs. They worshiped their gods. We need to separate from the world.
As parents, we are to teach our children the right kind of friends to have. We are to teach them the things they should not do. When we teach them the Word, we are teaching them how to live the right way. We should teach them why we believe the Word of God. Many children when the become adults stop believing as soon as their beliefs are questioned, and they do not have an answer of why, to back up what they believe.
When Moses spoke to the people, he was preaching what God had given him. Together with our children, we need to be in church to hear the preaching. Then at home we should be able to help them understand and know why. As parents, we have a great responsibility to teach our children the Word of God so they can learn and grow and reach their potential for the Lord.
So, you see, the book of Leviticus is filled with truths that if we look for them, we will find them. There are other application, but I only shared two of them today. Keep studying the word and ask the Lord to show you how the scripture applies to you in what need. The more you study God’s word the closer to reaching your potential.
Remember this, Your walk with God is the most important part of being a child of God.
