The goal in life is to move forward, to succeed.
The question we should ask ourselves is “Are we moving forward?”. Some may say yes, based on their financial situation, or their career. The real question is “Are we moving forward or are we doing the same thing day in and day out?”. This is nothing more than standing still.
Moving forward is not doing the same thing day after day. Moving forward is doing more than we did yesterday. If we are doing the same thing every day, then we are standing still. This can be true in every aspect of our lives. Careers, Finances, Family, spiritually there has to be forward movement.
With our career we should always be learning new things. If we are following the same routine every day, we are standing still. If we are satisfied with things the way they are, we are standing still. If we are not doing anything to improve on where we are, we are standing still.
Finances are another area that baffles me with how people think. Not too long ago, there was a meeting with the 401K advisors for a company. One of the employees said that they didn’t need to go to the meeting that the 401 is for rich people. What they were saying was I can’t afford to have anything taken out of my paycheck. But what they have missed is this. They company will match a certain percentage. So, if they gave $5 and the company matched that at $5 that is $10 for their future. They have worked for the company for over 30 years. If you do the math with just $10 a week times 52 weeks times 30 years is $15600. That is not allowing interest and growth. As they get close to retirement they would have been better off at retirement if that had just done the minimum. If you don’t do anything, you are standing still.
Many would ask, “How is family apart of standing still?”. Every day and every moment with children are a teaching moments. When I am in the grocery store, I see parents yelling and just being nasty to their children. They are missing a great opportunity to teach their children how to behave in public, or how to shop smartly. What about at restaurants? The children have their nose in some electronic device; they are not learning how to have a conversation and behave properly. The electronics are babysitting. There are many areas that we could talk about, but the bottom line is if the children are not being taught every moment, you are standing still.
The most important area of our lives is our spiritual growth. Going to church is great, but if you are not involved, you are standing still. There are lots of things that can be done at Church to get involved. (2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:) When life is over, we need to stand before the Lord able to say I finished, I did not stand still.
Having daily prayer and Bible reading is essential to growing in the Lord. Without prayer and Bible time, you are standing still. Telling others how they can go to Heaven someday is why we are even here. If the church does not have a time set aside for the members to take the Gospel to others, the church is standing still. If you are not telling others how to go to Heaven, you are standing still.
If you do not know 100% sure you are going to Heaven someday, you are standing still. And without knowing you are going to Heaven you will die and go to Hell.
Are you 100% sure you will go to Heaven someday?
I am sure you know the story of Christ dying on the Cross. There is more to the story than Jesus dyeing on the cross. He purchased us a gift of eternal life.
We first have to believe that we sin. (Sin is when we say and do things we know we should not say or do) [Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”] [Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”] Because of sin we cannot enter into Heaven.
Christ died to pay for the sin of the whole world. When, He concord death and rose from the dead he now has a gift for us called Eternal life. [Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”]
A gift is free and something we have to receive. If we never receive God’s gift we will die and go to Hell. But God loved us so much that he provided away for us to receive his gift of eternal life. [Romans 5:28 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”]
Through what Jesus did for us, we can have Eternal life. [Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”]
We have to admit we are Sinners, believe in our Heart that Jesus died for our sin, and then ask him for the Gift. Without the gift of Eternal life when we die we would go to Hell and pay for our sin by our self. With the gift we can go to Heaven.
When someone showed me what I just told you I knew I was a sinner and that I did not want to go to Hell and pay for my own Sin. That day I said a prayer and asked God for the gift of eternal life. I know 100% for sure that when I die I am going to Heaven.
I care about your eternal soul, so I am giving this to you in hopes that you will ask God for that gift and know 100% for sure that Heaven is your final Home as well. It is real simple just pray:
Dear Lord: I know I am a sinner and my sin will take me to Hell. I know Jesus that you died in my place. I ask you to give me that gift of eternal life and take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name. Amen!
This is a onetime transaction between you and God. A gift is received only once. So if you ask Him to give you the gift it is yours. [Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”] The last three words are a promise. If you ask Him, He will give it to you.
