It is very hard sometimes to be the person I know I need to be. However, I am human and my flesh wants to react. I bite my tongue and keep my mouth shut.
How others talk to you reveals their own lack of manners. I do not like it when I am talked to like I am stupid. It is hard to not react when someone barks out orders, instead of speaking in a civil voice. Kindness is free.
If I am able to help someone, I want to give it my all. I try to bring some happiness to others if possible. There is a plaque that states, “Be the reason someone Smiles today.” Some people refuse to smile and be happy. It does not stop me from trying. My goal in life is to live peaceably with all people.
Life is too short to allow people to say and do things that will cause us to react. We need to be consistent in our actions, even when the situation is bad. Our actions should always be handled the same way. Life is much better, if we handle every situation, good or bad, the same way. When something really big comes along it will not seem big because of how we always handle things.
Today is one of those days. I know that I need to lean on the Lord and seek his help. I cannot do anything without his power. My first reaction was to bark back and say things that I would regret later. Thankfully with God’s strength I did not yield to that reaction. Instead, I wrote down my frustration and yielded to Holy Spirit. Through this process I received peace.
I know that I am not stupid. My worth is not based on someone else. I am loyal and honest. I work hard and I do not seek recognition.
