God put us here for a purpose. God chose for us to have the parents we have. He chose the day and time we would be born. He has also appointed a time for when we will die. The time between birth and death God has a purpose for our lives.
As I grew up I heard that phrase many times from one of my brothers. It was always at a time he was getting in trouble for something he did nothing wrong. Things in our house were loud and gave a sense of feeling why was I born. My parents loved us very much but they just did not know any other way.
The phrase I didn’t ask to be born was a way to say, you chose to have me. My parents were loving parents and wanted each of us. They just did not know how to dicipline according to the Lord. Things began to change when Church became a part of our lives. God made the difference.
We can focus on all the negative of life or we can look for what God’s purpose is for us. When we put God first and seek his will we will understand why we are here. We will accomplish great things in this life.
No matter what happens in this life we can rest in the knowledge that God only thinks great things of us. Jeremiah 29:11-14: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.”
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
I am truly blessed. All of my syblings love the Lord and God has blessed us with many generations. God is truly a great God. I didn’t have to ask to be born. He chose for me to be here at this time for His purpose.
